Arjuna and the Big Picture

There is a famous, frequently narrated story in Mahabharata which talks about how Dronacharya tests the archery skills of his disciples and how Arjuna sees only the Bird's-eye and nothing else. Drona is filled with pride seeing his pet disciple and blesses him to be a great archer.
But what people forget to tell children is that " Looking at the Bird'seye " is not very desirable in all situations. In fact, its smacks of foolishness and naivety . Concenration and focus is something worth avoiding especially when it comes to making any decision which has financial implications, which means almost every single decision in life.
Say for example : A Consumer Products company says that " If you buy a Television, you get a Digital Camera free ". What people see is only is the free Digital Camera and not think twice about the financial implication of buying a TV, whether a TV is needed or not for their household. This is equalent to seeing the Bird's-eye and blinding ourselves to reality.
Arjuna represents the quintessential consumer of today. Companies love Arjuna and hope that every consumer continues to be as naive as him.
There aint no such thing as a Free Lunch.. Companies continue to be as profitable as ever. Consumers continue to be as indebted as ever. Ultimately, everyone is happy...
